UNCW Swim Lessons 2012

UNCW Swim Coaches Aaron and Sally

If someone had told me at the end of two weeks my daughter would be swimming I'm not sure I would believe them.  The UNCW Swim Lessons are truly something you need to see with your very own eyes.  I was rather hesitant when it came to the swim lessons because I heard it was a "take no prisoners" type of approach.  Rumor was, the instructors would just toss children into the water without hesitation.  It wasn't quite as bad as I thought.  Luckily, Everlee felt very comfortable in the water and adored her coaches, Aaron and Sally.  She did resist the lessons the second day only because the water was very chilly.  She toughed it out and made it known the "purple goggles" made all the difference.  Everlee loved "diving" off the platform, cup diving, and swimming without her "bubble".  My jaw dropped when she actually swam the entire length of the pool without a floating device.  I had no idea she would even be able to do this.  I quickly learned a lesson to never doubt the ability and drive of my determined little girl.

Happy One Month, Nash!

It is hard to believe one month has passed since we welcomed our sweet boy into the world.  Nash has been more than we ever dreamed possible with a second child.  He is a very calm and relaxed baby most of the time.  Nash tends to only cry when he is either very hungry or needs a diaper changed.  He is loved more than anything and adored by his big sister, Everlee.  He seems to save most of his bright smiles for when she is singing to him.  Nash has started to smile quite a bit but gave us his first dimple, toothless grin right before he turned a month old.  It is amazing how one little smile can completely melt your heart.

Last Day at Kids and Company!

It is hard to believe Everlee celebrated her last official day at Kids and Company Pre-School.  She has attended the school since she was only a few months old and as loved every minute.  We have been very fortunate to have wonderful teachers each and every year.  It is still hard for me to wrap my head around the fact that she is turning 4 and moving on to the next chapter of her life.  In August, she will be joining me at Cape Fear Academy.  We are so excited for her newest adventure...especially since Mommy can look in her every now and then.
