My Daddy Can Do it!!

One of Everlee's favorite books is by Eric Carle, Papa, Please Get The Moon For Me. She loves how the little girl wants to play with the moon and her daddy comes to the rescue and helps her pull the moon down from the sky. On the way home from school the other day, Everlee was still able to see the moon rather clearly. From the backseat, I could hear her say, "Mommy, look! There is the moon!" She proceeded to tell me all about the moon and how she wanted to play with it just like in the story. It brought tears to my eyes when Everlee said, "Mommy, you can't reach the moon, your too small." I asked her if she could reach the moon. "No, I'm too small. My Daddy can reach the moon 'cause he's BIG. My Daddy can get it for me!" I love how she views the world and feels so protected by her daddy. To her, he can do anything, fix anything, and even reach the moon.

Party Planning 101

Everlee has become quite the party planner like her mother. This year for Shane's birthday we picked out cake, ice cream, and candles. Everlee was so excited and couldn't wait for Daddy to come home and see the party she had planned. As soon as he walked in the door, Everlee broke out her own rendition of "Happy Birthday". She kept saying, "I got you a party, Daddy. I'm going to eat your party!" Everlee is also very strict when it comes to following the proper birthday party rules. She made sure we sang "Happy Birthday" before any candles could be blown out. Everlee also reminded her daddy numerous times to make a wish before he blew out the candles. Everlee followed the same protocol when it came to celebrating Mommy's birthday later in January. Everlee has even created a "Party Purse" which she takes to almost every function. She makes sure it is filled with any much needed materials. Mirror, brush, cars, necklace, tiara, etc. It doesn't matter what party she is attending, Everlee has her "Party Purse".
